Our client, based in Stockport have an exciting opportunity for an **Accounts Payable Assistant** to join their team on a part time basis working 3 days per week with an option of hybrid working. This will be a varied role, that offers a fantastic opportunity for an individual to work in a fast-paced growing organisation with the opportunity to progress their career as the business expands.

Job role:
The main duties of this **Accounts Payable Assistant** will include
- Input supplier bills posting to the correct nominal code in Xero
- Complete end to end duties of entering bills to correct nominal, ensuring approval and processing for payment
- Build excellent supplier relationships, ensuring any issues are resolved at the earliest opportunity
- Build excellent relationships with colleagues
- Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations to ensure our records are up to date
- Aid in the preparation of payment runs
- Bank reconciliations on Xero
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly cash flow forecast
- Monitor and organise Accounts inbox and investigate any queries and resolve them in a timely manner meeting set deadlines by liaising with key contacts
- Monitor payables to ensure that they fit into plan - check terms and resolve supplier queries in a timely manner
- Keep within set KPIs for invoice and credit note authorisation.
- Contribute to the month end process by: ensuring banks are reconciled, Pleo is reconciled, efficient processing of invoices and credit notes to given deadline, and completion of key supplier statement reconciliations to given deadline

Skills required:

- Able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional, busy and demanding SME environment
- Previous experience in an end to end purchase ledger role
- Good numeracy skills, along with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Xero accounting software.
- Pleo and Approval Max experience desirable
- Good interpersonal communication skills, such as written, oral and persuasive communication abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, self-motivation, persistence, resilience and dedication to deadlines.
- Experience in a fast paced, volume-based environment.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Good keyboard skills and competence of Excel and Xero
- High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
- A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
- Outgoing and confident personality who can operate at all levels & build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
- Good standard of education
- Strong organisational & time management skills
- Ability to recognise potential risks that should be escalated

Salary and Benefits package:

- Competitive salary within the range of £23-28k per annum, pro-rata, commensurate with experience and qualifications
