Are you a compassionate, motivated and a reliable care assistant who works well as part of a team, Newlands Care Home in Dunfermline is looking to recruit a Full time Care Assistant working 4 days a week including every second weekend. Shifts will be a combination of early shifts working 7am - 6pm or late shifts working 1pm - 10pm.

**We are looking for experienced care assistants who understand that this is a physically demanding role and good time keeping skills are essential.**

Care assistants need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all kinds of people, in situations which can be stressful or emotionally draining. More specifically they should have:

- A friendly approach and the ability to put residents at ease, whatever their physical or social needs
- The ability to be tactful and sensitive at all times
- A good sense of humour
- Respect for the resident and their families
- A high level of patience as some residents do have challenging behaviour
- A good knowledge of basic health care and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to deal with anxious residents
- A responsible and flexible attitude to residents and the job
- Manual dexterity and a certain level of physical strength
- The ability to stay calm under pressure
- A commitment to the job, the residents and their families
- The ability to think quickly and solve problems as they arise

**We are looking for people with a minimum of 12 months experience in a care home or care at home environment.**

All employees working in care must now be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting employment. You will be asked to register once you have successfully completed your 3 month probationary period and this must be kept up to date with an annual fee.

All staff will receive a full induction programme which involves 4 weeks of full shadowing and training will be given to ensure you are familiar with the residents and their routines. This will also include Moving and Handling training, PCS training and e-learning.

We are offering an hourly rate of between £10.90 - £11.90 depending on day and shift time worked, a company pension scheme, 5.6 weeks holiday a year, on demand pay scheme, optional Health Insurance, refer a friend bonus scheme and the chance to work with a great team in a family run care home.
