An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Blairgowrie Day Opportunities service for a driver/handyperson. The service provides Day Opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities and your main role will be to provide transport to and from the service over the week and carry out additional duties including: Basic vehicle safety checks and cleaning of vehicles; Health and Safety duties within the building including fire warden checks.

You must be aware that this post has has fixed annual leave points where the post holder is required to take the majority of there leave due to service requirements. You will be a key holder for the service and may be required to work out of hours for emergency response and to facilitate hall rentals - you are required to have a flexible approach to working hours.

Hours of work are split shifts - Monday to Friday: Morning: 07:30 to 10:00 Afternoon: 14:54 to 17:00 This is the current work pattern, but a flexible approach is required due to changing service requirements.

**The Individual**:
Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, carers, members of the public would be advantageous. You must have a caring and person centred approach and be sensitive to the needs of the service users you will be transporting to and from the service. The successful applicant must have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years and be prepared to under take MIDAS driver training, which requires a D1 entitlement to undertake.
