Job Title: Special Needs Tutor for Mildly Autistic Child

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK

**Job Type**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Competitive, based on experience

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and implement individualized educational plans for the child
- Work closely with the child to develop their academic and social skills
- Monitor the child's progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Communicate regularly with parents and other professionals involved in the child's care
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment for the child
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors
- motivate the child and encourage him to perform

Desirable:

- A degree or equivalent in Special Education, Psychology or a related field

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children with autism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational plans
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors
- DBS clearance

Information about the job:
We would need somebody basically to help Sammy with doing his homework and catching him up at school (he is performing a couple of years behind academically) as well as assisting him in bettering his socialising.

Sammy is 11. He is into tech and music and swimming. When he is bigger he would love to be the founder of apple He has been diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum and having ADHD as well as has some hearing difficulties.

However, Sammy is doing well inspite of this. He is at The Malling school full time and has got his reading age up a year in the last couple of months already. He misses his Nanny (who died last year) and spent lots of time tutoring him.

Sammy is smart, loving, opinionated and he loves his dog Buffy. What we are looking for is a companion who has can help to motivate, teach and guide sammy so that he can improve in school. Experience in special needs would be desirable. Support to help his self control and focus would also be most desirable.

The right person will live near to or be able to work with Sammy mostly at home in Tunbridge Wells and out and about locally. There will be an opportunity to travel on family holidays.

Hours would be after school preferably from 17:00 - 20:00 and potentially a couple hours on the weekend
