Yard Operative

**Job Schedule**:

- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7:00 to 15:30
- On occasion Overtime may be requested, paid at 1.5 x hourly rate.

**Job Requirements**:

- Positive attitude towards work and willingness to learn.
- Preferably holds a side loader and forklift license or has had relevant experience. However, training can be provided.
- Involves manual work, which can be physically demanding.
- Will require working outside in adverse weather conditions due to all year round nature of the role.

**Responsibilities include:

- Loading and Unloading: The Yard Operative is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading wagons, trucks, or other vehicles using equipment such as forklifts or side loaders. They ensure that goods, materials, or equipment are safely handled and properly secured.
- Yard Maintenance: This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the yard or storage area. You will be responsible for arranging and stacking materials, tidying up the area, and ensuring proper housekeeping practices are followed.
- Inventory Control: You may be involved in inventory management, which includes keeping track of stock levels, recording incoming and outgoing shipments, and reporting any discrepancies.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: This role may involve maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods, updating inventory systems, and documenting any damages or issues related to the yard or equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Yard Operatives are responsible for adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment. They may participate in regular safety inspections, report any hazards or incidents, and follow proper safety procedures while operating equipment.
