**Senior Theatre Anaesthetic Lead**

One Ashford Hospital, Kent has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Theatre Practitioner who is looking to take the next step in their career, and join our friendly and dynamic theatre team as Senior Theatre Anaesthetic Lead.

**Hours**: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, flexible shift pattern. Saturday working as and when required.

**Salary**: Dependent on skillset and experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is patient focused and strives to deliver high standard of clinical care and safety for patients in the Theatre unit. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Anaesthetic team.

As Senior Theatre Anaesthetic Lead, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be able to provide effective communication, clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model to lead the Anaesthetic team.

You will be an patient focused ODP or Theatre Nurse with demonstrable experience in an Anaesthetic role with a desire to deliver healthcare at its very best and a proven ability to lead, train and inspire junior members of staff.

**Senior Theatre Anaesthetic Lead**

**The Role**:
The position is focused on the anaesthetic services at One Ashford. We are looking for an experienced, self-driven and motivated team Leader, to provide clear direction for the anaesthetic team, supporting them to achieve their own personal goals and development. The position will also develop further services within anaesthesia working alongside the wider teams.

Some experience in the Private Health Care industry is desirable but not essential_._

**Role Responsibilities include**:

- Providing leadership and development by ensuring the use of evidence based practice and clinical standards
- Provide a safe working environment for patients and team members
- Ensure that pathways are delivered to the standard and quality expected of the hospital
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement which focuses on the provision of high quality safe and effective care
- Maintain CQC standards
- Satisfactory audit and clinical practice and documentation
- Completion of own and team members competencies assessment
- Fulfil appraisal and performance review objectives
- Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered/maintained and used efficiently by liaising with the supplies team
- Deputise in absence of theatre lead
- Complete all mandatory training on time
- To accept personal accountability of identifying own learning needs and professional development. To participate in continuing education to seek new knowledge/skills.
- Provide informal staff progress
- To complete the work rota for anaesthetic staff

**Senior Theatre Anaesthetic Lead**

**Skills**
- Be a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
- Have post-registration clinical experience as an anaesthetic theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent) setting
- Sound written, numerical and verbal communication skills
- Have a proven ability to mentor others
- Planning skills including risk management, audit, appraisals, RCA
- Able to make judgements involving complex facts or situations
- Sound computer skills using MS Office Suite
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Experience of customer care including interacting in challenging situations
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Be enthusiastic and passionate about patient care

**Desirables**
- Advanced Life Support - or willingness to undertake
- Capabilities in 12 lead ECG, Cannulation, cell salvage
- Experience of private healthcare
