**Cyber Security Analyst**

**Southampton - 1 day per week in the office 4 days remote**

**6 Months**

**£550 - £600p/d - Umbrella Only**

Fantastic new contract opportunity for an experienced Cyber Security Analyst with this market leading retail business. You will report directly into the Cyber Security Operations Manager and as part of the wider in-house SOC team you will interpret the threatdata, they have available and determine the risks that exist and the action required to mitigate it, support your colleagues and pro-actively look for vulnerabilities that could cause a breach or reputational damage.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Pro-actively monitor, respond and investigate alerts in online security dashboards, managing incidents through to closure where appropriate or initiating IT incident management processes.
- Ensure all processes are clearly documented and ensure knowledge sharing across the team and the wider IT community.
- Ownership and management of PCI WaS and vulnerability scanning capabilities including the identification and onboarding/offboarding of services into the scanning schedule; liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders to manage actions throughto resolution.
- Review and risk assess all firewall change requests to ensure changes do not adversely affect perimeter security.
- Own and manage the annual penetration testing schedule and work with internal stakeholders to create and track remediation plans, schedule re-tests and ensure closure by due dates.
- Manage incident and approval queues.
- Perform confidential investigations and document and present evidence as required.
- Assist with other security activities and projects as required

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Proven experience within a similar Cyber Security Analyst position ideally gained working within an in-house SOC environment.
- Experience of vulnerability management and/or SIEM solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft security dashboards.
- Proven risk assessment capabilities.
- Experience with SOAR.
- Experience writing SOC processes, workflows, procedures.
- Experience investigating post intrusion incidents at a forensic level.
- Broad understanding of IT security controls.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with competing demands.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Qualys, Crowdstrike and Splunk (desirable)
