**About the role**
The enterprise loss prevention lead is a new role within the Enterprise Data Office team. The role, will work closely with partners across AZ to establish and drive an enterprise approach to how we enable the right processes, people, and technology, backed by a comprehensive set of controls to increase the speed of access to AZ data while protecting AZ data from the potential of data loss.
The role will partner with colleagues in our Technology, Security and Privacy teams plus our federated data governance organisation to ensure accountability and responsibility is communicated and understood, that key risks are identified, and that appropriate mitigation is in place. Compliance with regulatory authorities in this space is key so a solid grasp of the potential regulations that affect how we enable and control access to data and how we move data, within AZ with partner and across international borders is important.
Supporting the sharing of data to drive innovation is dependent on having a clear business and technology metadata strategy for our data. The role will work closely with our Information Architecture, Catalogue and Global Business Services teams to ensure we can implement a low friction, robust technical solution. Assuring these processes and establishing and reporting on metrics in this space will be a key part of the role.
The role will work with the business are data offices to improve business use of AZ data to the AZ TRUST and FAIR data principles and practices to ensuring we use data wisely and manage it as a data asset.
The role will therefore own the enterprise data standards in this space, the data governance maturity assessment capability and data risk operating model for data loss prevention. This includes working with business peers, the legal team, procurement department, the privacy office, data stewards and colleagues across IT.
**Key Accountabilities**
Responsibilities will be encouraged to evolve over time as the way we manage our data evolves. They will include but will not be restricted to leading and carrying out:
- Build and maintain a detailed assessment of AZ’s DLP capability to ensure we see opportunities for standardised ways of working that meet our regulatory and compliance needs.
- Identify the need for and establish appropriate standards and guidelines for data loss prevention.
- Create and maintain ownership accountability and responsibility guidance in the business community.
- Lead a matrix team of specialists in data access and transfer who will also develop an education and awareness program across AZ to ensure data loss prevention policies and practices are embedded throughout the company.
- Establish standard methodology for partnering with business users who consume AZ data to ensure AZ maximises the value from its data.
- Align the capabilities to the enterprise data and information strategy.
- Embed and align data access and transfer activity with privacy and information security programmes and initiatives.
- Use specialist knowledge and expertise to identify improvements to ensure that the enterprise data access and transfer standards continue to evolve to meet the changing regulatory and business landscape. (i.e. new Cross Border Data Transfer regulations)
- Continually assess and identify risks in line with the AZ risk management approach, ensuring they are owned and as appropriate mitigated and accounted for.
- Support project planning and management to ensure standard methodology and finance frameworks are followed with regards to the enterprise data and information governance team.
**Essential Experience and Skills**
- Extensive experience working within an information or data management setting.
- A good understanding of data and risk management practices and carrying out business audits and requirements gathering.
- Experience in leading a data-oriented programme.
- Understanding of the principles of IT security and data protection
- Experience of requirements gathering
- Solid ability to extract information by questioning, active listening and interviewing
- Specialist knowledge of DLP principles and practices, including awareness and understanding of data contracts
