**Introduction to the Role**:
An excellent and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated podiatrist to join our progressive team with a key focus on providing musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry at Southern

Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is a band 6 Podiatrist community role based at several locations including; Andover War Memorial Hospital, Avalon House, Eastleigh Health Centre, Brambly’s

Grange and Alton Community Hospital.

**Responsibilities**:

- To assess, diagnose, develop and implement treatment plans for patients with MSK lower limb and foot pathology.
- Orthotic manufacture.
- Manage own clinic caseload, appointments, and schedule of work.
- To provide a treatment plan for high risk and general patients with podiatric problems. The treatment plans include a course of treatment, foot health education, advice and discharge as appropriate, continuous treatment and reassessment of high-risk patients.
- Provide health education to patients and carers, individually or in groups.
- To provide an efficient, effective and consistent high-quality treatment to the patient in a range of different clinical settings.
- To assess, diagnose, develop, implement, and review individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
- Active participation in referral grading.
- To identify diabetic foot risk factors by interpreting clinical signs and symptoms; to assess vascular and neuropathic changes in the foot in order to categorise patients into appropriate risk categories.
- To work as an autonomous clinician using clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to determine how to best achieve positive clinical outcomes for patients.
- The post holder will act as senior podiatrist providing an efficient, effective and consistent high-quality treatment to the patient in a range of different clinical settings.
- BSc in Podiatry
- Evidence of CPD
- Local anaesthetic certificate
- Professional portfolio
- In-date HCPC registration
- Knowledge of RIO (desirable)
- Significant experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Driving license
