We have an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion or are already working within mental health services to join our Occupational therapy team as an Occupational therapy technician. This is a full time post at 37.5 hours and will be a 12 month fixed term contract.

This role will be based at the Newham centre for mental health. An inpatient service providing support to adults who present with acute mental health needs. A crucial part of your role would be to provide occupation focused interventions to service users in group and individual settings. In addition to working alongside our occupational therapists you will also have the opportunity to work alongside our MDT members.

1. To provide specialist individual and group interventions across all locality wards under the guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist.

2. To support the AMH OT Team in its provision of assessment and treatment of clients with mental health problems, impacting on their occupational performance.

3. To positively contribute to the evaluation and continuous development of the AMH OT service through data collection, quality improvement and co-production with service users.

4. To work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in supporting service users in their recovery journeys.

5. To contribute to the maintenance of the inpatient wards as therapeutic environments.
