Linlithgow Community Development Trust is a charity organisation working to make Linlithgow a wonderful place to live and to work. We manage and support a number of projects, including Active Travel, a Tool Library, a community Shed, ReFab (our têxtile group) and the Repair Shop. We also have a renewable energy project and provide a home in our Hub for many local classes and groups as well as supporting Linlithgow Farmily, a local grow your own project.

Our newest project is the Circular Tourism Project, funded by Zero Waste Scotland, which aims to link tourist accommodation providers in Linlithgow with share and repair services. The aims of the project are to reduce the consumption of new goods, avoid the purchase of items for single use, and provide opportunities for a more circular approach in tourism. To that end we are looking for specialist repair workers to join our team on a sessional basis.

Job Summary:
We are looking for people with experience and/or qualifications in repairing household electrical items (lamps, kettles, lawnmowers etc), upholstery and soft furnishings (including invisible sofa repairs), wooden furniture and garden items (side tables, drawers, benches etc).

Sessional workers will be required according to demand for repairs, therefore there are no set hours. This role might suit students nearing qualification and looking for work experience, people who have retired from a trade, or people looking for flexible, part time hours.

**Duties**:
As a sessional repair worker you could be:

- Repairing bedside lamps
- Fixing a garden bench
- Upcycling a side table
- Repairing a tear to a sofa

Skills, qualities and experience:
Electrical sessional workers will need demonstrable experience in repairing electrical items and a Certificate in Portable Appliance Testing. Qualifications in electrical repair or installation would be advantageous.

Sessional workers to repair furniture and soft furnishings will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in repairing such items.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

Pay: £25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 4 per week

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
