**About the Port**

The Port is located in Scarinish, Isle of Tiree, PA77 6TN and is operational at the following times:
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday: 09:15 - 16:00
Wednesday/Friday/Saturday: 09:15 - 13:00
Sunday: 11:00 - 14:00

During the Summer timetable, there are also late sailings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The latest finishing time for those occasions would be approximately 20:00.

There is a 'Ring and Ride' bus service operated through Argyll and Bute council which runs from 07:00 until 18:00 Monday to Saturday with extended hours in the summer to meet the ferry.

**Your Role**

As a member of the Port team, you will have a key role to play in ensuring that we deliver an amazing experience to all our customers, whether they are islanders, visitors from the UK or overseas or commercial customers.

You will also have key safety and security duties - assisting with maintenance of the pier, traffic management and all other duties connected with vessel movement, as well as making sure our ports meet our customers' expectations by undertaking various tidy up duties

**Day to Day Working**

You will work a varied shift pattern, which includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings. You may be required to start work early each morning and some shifts will mean you will finish after the last vessel has set sail for the evening.

**Key Responsibilities**

Ticket Sales, Printing and Distribution:

- Process ticket sales accurately and efficiently.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate tickets for our services.
- Operate ticketing systems and equipment for printing and distributing tickets.

Customer Interaction:

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering assistance.
- Communicate ticketing information, policies, and procedures to customers.
- Assisting customers with amending/cancelling bookings and arranging accommodation/onward travel when service is disrupted.

Cash Handling:

- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and issue receipts.

Data Entry:

- Accurately enter customer and ticketing information into databases.
- Record and relay sailing statistics.

Vessel Movement:

- Ensure safe and secure mooring of our vessels, following established procedures.

Customer Service:

- Greet and assist passengers, providing information about pier facilities and local services.
- Address customer enquiries and provide assistance with boarding and disembarking.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the pier, including cleaning
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.

Equipment Operation:

- Operate equipment such as forklifts and vans.
- Follow proper procedures for the handling of cargo and equipment.

Security and Safety:

- Monitor the pier area to ensure the safety and security of personnel and property.
- Enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures.
