**About Us**:
Intelligent Servers Limited are one of the leading providers of refurbished enterprise IT equipment; specialising in HP, Dell and Cisco. The company has seen rapid growth in recent years and has ambitious plans to expand further. We are now looking for an HR Apprentice to join our small HR team on an 18-month fixed term contract to help achieve the company’s ambitious goals.

**The role**:
The primary role of the HR Apprentice is to support the HR Manager and HR Advisor with all aspects of generalist HR administration across a broad HR remit. The HR Apprentice will undertake an 18 month Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship which covers handling day to day queries and providing human resources advice, ranging from recruitment through to retirement. You will develop a range of logical and analytical skills, learning how HR works in practice as you combine learning with the day-to-day support of people at Intelligent Servers. You will master excellent communication skills and learn how to deal with situations effectively, sensitively and within the limitations of legal and business processes.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Completes all aspects of HR Administration for the company in the categories below
- Recruitment and onboarding:

- Posts job adverts
- Arranges interviews
- Updates recruitment tracker
- Requests references
- Sends new starter forms internally
- Adds new starters to HR System, Breathe
- Creates electronic HR files with correct sub folders
- Creates and completes HR and H&S induction ‘card’ for each new starter
- Creates training ‘card’ (in line with job bandings) for manager completion
- Sends new starter payroll information forms to accountants
- Ensures all new starter paperwork/administration is filed and complete, chasing wherever necessary
- Completes right to work checks
- Absence management:

- Adds sickness to HR system
- Sends self-certification forms to absent staff on a weekly basis
- Completes a report of sickness absence on a monthly basis to identify high levels of sickness absence and reports these to the HR Manager for escalation
- Records unpaid or ‘other’ leave on HR system
- Training:

- Prepares training agreements
- Books courses when requested
- Ensures training matrix is kept up to date
- Monitors staff progress with training
- Leavers:

- Updates HR system with leavers details
- Notifies relevant staff of resignation, including requesting that leaver process is run in advance of last day
- Organises exit interviews
- Ensures paperwork is moved to ‘leaver’s’ electronic file and moved to leaver folder
- Sends P45 to leavers after they have left, if required
- Reward and payroll:

- Prepares and sends documentation regarding salary changes
- Sends confirmation to staff of bonus payments, wherever necessary
- Updates HR system with salary changes and bonus payments
- Organises set up and administration for salary sacrifice schemes
- Performance management:

- Sends probation period review meeting reminders to managers
- Logs and chasing up returned appraisal forms
- General HR/office administration:

- Issues changes to terms and conditions of employment eg. Internal role transfers, notice period changes etc.
- Ensures staff details are up to date on HR system
- Minute taking in meetings when requested
- Books accommodation for conference/events
- Orders kitchen/office supplies
- Orders uniform and updates uniform tracker
- Organises travel and accommodation bookings, when requested
- Assists with organization of company wide and team events
- Keeps up to date with employment law through reading (online/offline resources), attending seminars and relevant training

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise work and handle pressure to ensure that deadlines are met
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone to internal and external Stakeholders at all levels
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team as the HR Manager and HR Advisor both work part time
- Strong IT skills
- A strong desire to develop a career in Human Resources with a view to progressing within the company
- GCSE grade 9-4 (A*- C) English and Maths
