With over 40-year’s experience within the company on the repair and maintenance of steam locomotives including those operating on the main line. JM Steam Engineering Ltd provide consulting on all aspects of Locomotive Repairs and all types of locomotive maintenance as well as other services.

**Position available**:Manual machinist

**About the Position**

This position will be full time manual machinist, the work is varied and involves producing components for steam engines and other historic vehicles.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Reading and interpreting drawings.
- Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, milling machines vertical and horizontal borers.
- Mounting and dismounting workpieces on/from lathe and mill
- Selecting the cutting tools for machining operations
- Performing roughing and finishing operations
- Checking finished pieces to ensure compliance with technical drawings
- Carrying out minor maintenance of lathe, mill and tools
- Cleaning work area, e.g., removing swarf and returning tooling & fixtures to storage

Pay: £27,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
