Yard Supervisor

**We are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our team at Jewson Sittingbourne (ME10 3HX)**

As a **Yard Supervisor** you will play a pivotal role in supporting management by supervising the branch yard team to deliver an excellent customer experience. You will also be expected to make sure your team are fully compliant with best practice Health and Safety processes whilst working towards branch sales and profit targets. From serving our customers to loading vehicles ready for delivery, and from monitoring stock to growing our sales, you’ll be at the heart of our operations

We’re a busy and well established branch North West of Canterbury, with a friendly team who pride ourselves on offering a great service and excellent product knowledge. We have a sales office, warehouse, yard stores, shop & counter, timber supply and customer delivery vehicles. This role has a strong focus on customer service as well as working outside supervising the yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers, has strong leadership qualities and enjoys working outdoors. Full work-wear and PPE will be supplied for you.

- Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
- Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items

A forklift licence would also be an advantage, however it’s not essential as we are happy to organise training for you.
- **So, what will you be doing?**_

Our **Yard Supervisors **have a strong focus on customer service as well as working out in the yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers and enjoys working outdoors. We will provide you with full work-wear and PPE.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Fork Lift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
- Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

**Hours of Work**:Full time - Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and every 2nd Saturday 7.30am-12pm.
