We are looking for **HGV Mechanics** to join our Waste and Recycling site in Musselburgh.

As a well established business, we have fantastic progression opportunities and further training for keen individuals who show genuine interest in the position.

Your duties will involve;
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your role will be to keep the Companies vehicle fleet operational.

The role is full time, working **Monday to Friday, 7AM to 4PM**.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- _Prepare vehicles for annual testing including delivery to testing stations_
- _Carry out scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs as directed to both chassis, cabs and auxiliary equipment_
- _Carry out inspections prior to servicing and routine safety inspections to vehicles, auxiliary equipment and plant including the completion of supporting paperwork_
- _Complete any required paperwork detailing the work carried out on vehicles, auxiliary equipment and plant_
- _Steam clean vehicle parts or units as required before repair_
- _Attend breakdowns to assess the remedial action necessary including the carrying out of appropriate repairs on site_
- _Driving of Departmental vehicles_
- _The employee will carry out the duties specified above and such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time._
- _It will be necessary for you to be trained in, and use, new technology as it is introduced into the companies activities_

**Key Requirements**:

- _Full driving licence with category C_
- _SVQ motor vehicle technology parts 1, 2 & 3_
- _SVQ technicians part 2_
- _Time served apprenticeship_
- _Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems_
- _Previous experience of working on Tipper, Mixer and block vehicles and associated equipment_

Hours of work:
**7AM - 4PM / Monday to Friday**

Salary**:£13-£16 per hour DOE**

**Bonus structure available**

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Musselburgh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:
