Under the supervision of the Global Category Lead, the Procurement Coordinator will complete daily tasks as described below for the Direct Materials category. There is the opportunity to develop and be responsible for a smaller set of suppliers as experience is gained.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Working with the Procurement and Category Managers to support the creation and maintenance of procurement catalogues and SKU’s within the Oracle system.
- Responsible for purchase requisition assessment, for the Creation/amendments to purchase orders and the management
- Support the Procurement team with the creation and management of purchase agreements within the Oracle system. Liaising with cross functional teams where required.
- Supporting the additions of new products, ensuring these are on the system ready for ordering and also managing requests with suppliers.
- Supporting the creation of sourcing events (i.e. RFQ’s & RFI’s) requirements by the Procurement team
- Coordinate and manage the Oracle Supplier portal. Key activities will include Supplier training, introduction and discontinuation of suppliers, ensuring all suppliers data is maintained, leading and managing supplier questionnaire requests and responses. The running of day to day procurement reports to support data analysis, key performance indicators and the daily requirements of the procurement function
- Adopt a total cost of ownership mindset to drive new ways of working with the business and suppliers.
- Contribute and adhere to procurement policies and procedures to improve the compliance agenda and drive best practices. (e.g., supplier documents, SRM, preferred supplier status, internal stakeholder engagement).
- Participate in audits and quality/compliance related activities where required
- Support Procurement team in supplier meetings to create meeting minutes and provide supporting data as required
- Contribute to the procurement annual cost saving targets
- Work cross functionally with internal teams to resolve queries as quickly as possible.
- Support the company-wide quality initiative to reduce complaint rate for high complaint suppliers. This will involve review of quality data and defining root cause with suppliers. This will include working with suppliers if there is a problem in claiming for shortages
- Work with the Accounts team to approve or reject invoices with pricing discrepancies and resolve where possible.
- Serve as an escalation point with Scientific Support team/ SciQC team on complaints for specific products and help facilitate discussions with appropriate Abcam teams and the supplier to reach a resolution.
- Serve as an escalation point on LVOs when supply-chain is not able to resolve

**Qualifications**:
Holder of CIPS or willingness to enroll and complete.

1-2 years of work experience, preferably in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical/life sciences industries is advantageous but not essential.
