Commercial Floorlayer

**About the role**:
As our **Commercial Floorer**, you’ll support the continued growth of the business by providing reactive and planned maintenance services in the area as well as support larger-scale projects.

Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday, but flexibility will be needed for start and finish times, weekends, night shifts, and an on-call rota.

Our engineers are contracted to work 40 hours per week - the reality is you'll probably work closer to 45 hours and occasionally more, but we have good overtime rates in place and we provide you with a company van and fuel card to get from A to B. We are a reactive facilities maintenance business so no two days will be the same

**Your main duties as our** **Commercial Floorer will include**:

- Carrying out routine flooring tasks, reactive works, and small projects - sometimes on your own and sometimes part of a team
- Carrying out effective spot repairs or improvements on a variety of floorings
- Replacement and fitting of new flooring materials
- Attending callouts/breakdowns and carrying out remedial repairs and replacements
- Providing materials lists and time estimates for return remedial works
- You will also be expected to work as part of an on-call rota to cover out-of-hours emergencies and there may be occasions when you'll be asked to work outside your core discipline to support other teammates
- Shift patterns may vary due to the environments we work in, so night work should be expected

**What we’re looking for in our ideal **Comercial Floorer**:

- Experienced floor layer with knowledge of working with and fitting a variety of floor coverings including vinyl and carpet
- Ability to carry out minor repairs to wooden sub-floor structures
- Carpentry and basic plumbing skills would be a distinct advantage
- A high degree of attention to detail
- A good appreciation of Health and Safety
- Highly customer-focused with experience in dealing with customers and suppliers
- Experience working within a mobile workforce, ideally in an FM company
- Excellent communication skills
- Full driving licence
