We are actively recruiting a part-time Charity Shop Supervisor to join our team.

An exciting opportunity to raise money to benefit the staff and patients of your local hospital through working in the local community.

We are seeking a part-time supervisor to manage the day to day running of our Leigh and Westcliff hospital charity shops including supervision of volunteer staff, stock management, shop administration and overseeing health and safety in the workplace.

The role of Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity is to enhance the experience for patients and carers by fundraising and investing in state-of-the-art equipment, innovative research, staff training and the creation of a welcoming positive environment for our patients.

It is a busy and exciting time for our charity shops post pandemic. We are a small, successful team who thrive on collaboration and working together. As charity shop supervisor you will be fully supported by head office and from your position in the community enjoy communicating and promoting our fundraising campaigns to your volunteer staff and customers.
- Day to day management of the shop and voluntary staff
- Achieve profit targets by maximising sales and minimising costs
- Maintain a high standard of presentation both in the windows and interior of the shop
- Manage the daily and seasonal flow of donated stock from stockroom to shop floor with focus on sorting, pricing, display and rotation
- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers with responsibility for rotas and allocation of tasks
- Ensure all administrative, financial and security procedures are adhered to as per charity and shop policy
- Provide a safe environment that protects all staff, volunteers and the public, compliant with all Health & Safety Regulations as per charity and H&S policy.
- Flexibility to cover leave in the other shops within the group

- Achieve profit targets by maximising sales and minimising costs
- Follow guidelines and procedures to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained
- Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by the hospitals’ charities is maintained at all times
- Actively support and implement any fundraising promotions as directed by the area manager or charity head office
- Run till reports to identify opportunities to maximise the potential of different product categories
- Actively encourage the public to donate saleable stock
- Ensure there is adequate flow of stock from stockroom to the shop floor (momentum)
- Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines (stock density)
- The role will demand moving a lot of stock on a daily basis
