Forecourt Cashier

Job description
We have one vacancy for a Forecourt Cashier in our Esso Service Station in Blyth Northumberland.

A family business, established in 1968. Situated opposite Blyth Crem, Cowpen Road, Blyth.

We have a modern convenience store with Best-One franchise our staff are friendly and helpful to customers old and new.

We operate Evri parcel collection, Pay Point and Lottery.

The Part time position is 16 + hours per week with additional holiday cover and absences.

Flexibility and availability at short notice would be an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
You are required to have excellent customer skills as you will be working closely with customers and staff to encourage sales and if customers enjoy visiting our store ultimately they will come back again.

Maintain smart appearance at all times.

To operate a Till/Pos forecourt system taking cash and credit card payments-vigilantly checking for fraud and forgery's.

To be aware of forecourt activity at all times for safety and to be able to act quickly and efficiently when necessary.

To sell age restricted goods ie PP, Lotto, alcohol, cigs. We operate Challenge 25 policy.

To follow Health and Safety policies

Daily General housekeeping, maintaining high store standards, daily cleaning both inside store and on the forecourt.

Stock rotation, replenishing, pricing and checking dates.

Promotions and up selling to drive sales.

Be responsible for the completion of end of shift paperwork.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
Minimum two years shop/retail experience

Excellent customer service skills

Maths GCSE

Opening hours are 7am - 9pm Early & late shifts

Early Shifts are 7am to 11am or 7am to 2pm and Late shifts 2pm to 9pm or 5pm to 9pm. **Please note: You will be standing and there is some lifting involved (shop goods).**

The shifts are 7hours or 4 hours long - They run on a rota Monday
- Sunday
- you will be working a mix of long and shorts over the 7days
- **There is a four week rota given in advance. An example of the shifts are**;
week 1 -Mon early 7-2pm, Wed late 5-9pm, Fri early 7-11am
week 2 -Tues late 2-9pm, Thurs late 5-9pm, Sat early 7-2pm & Sun late 2-8pm
week 3 -Mon late 5-9pm, Wed early 7-2pm, Fri late 2-9pm
week 4 -Tues early 7-11pm,, Sat late 5-9pm & Sun early 8.30-2pm
over the month the average is approx 64-74 hours.

There is also cover for holidays and absences
