Expert Digital Design

JOB AD:
It offers high value-added circuits, integrating around the pixel matrix high-performance analog functions in response to customer needs.

In this context, it is looking for a expert digital designer to increase its capacity to develop such sensors.

Mission and Responsibilities
- Interact with the customer to help him define his needs.
- Architect the digital part of the sensors, in close collaboration with the analogue architect, the silicon validation, the characterization manager, and the industrial test manager.
- Develop the digital hardware part of the circuits using the development methods and architectural concepts in place. (VHDL language, Verilog)
- Develop the embedded software of the sensors when it is based on a microcontroller (C language)
- Verify the functionality and digital performance of the sensor (frequency, consumption, size, etc.) by simulation before tape-out

Secondary tasks associated with the position:

- Model the sensor for verification (C, C++, Python, SystemC)
- Improve testbenchs (SystemVerilog)
- Model the analog (SystemVerilog)
- Participate in the improvement of internal tools and development environment (scripting, IP, reuse...)

Depending on the organization of a project, not all of the above missions are taken by the same person. Nevertheless, it is important to know how to carry them out and to rely on mutual support within the team

The transverse tasks associated with the position are mainly innovation-related:

- Participate in the development of new image sensor structures to meet new integration needs, based on technological developments.
- File patents.
- Identify areas for improvement in the digital and embedded software design profession

Required professional Experience
- At least 10 years experience in digital design and embedded software, in the context of ASIC design, preferably image sensor.
- Experience in mixed ASIC architecture development is mandatory
- Experience in direct cooperation with a customer for the definition of a custom ASIC is desired

Technical Skills and Education

Engineering degree or 5 years of higher education in microelectronics
- Expertise in VHDL
- Good knowledge of C, C++
- Expertise in embedded development (good understanding of embedded constraints, good ability to understand a dedicated microcontrolled system)
- Knowledge of SystemC is a plus
- Knowledge of scripting language(s) (Python, perl, bash, tcl) is a plus
- Knowledge of Eclipse IDE is a plus
- Knowledge of Matlab is a plus
- Knowledge of Verilog is a plus
- Knowledge of SystemVerilog is a plus
