**Contract type and hours: Permanent, 37.5hrs per week, (Morning Post 6-2pm, Mon to Fri) and Afternoon ( 2-10pm Mon to Wed, Thurs 12-8pm, Fri 12-7pm)**

**Main duties of the job**:
To undertake general cleaning and related tasks to a high standard, following the guidelines as set out in the daily work schedule. To maintain a clean/deep clean and hygienic environment for Trust Staff and Visitors.

Perform cleaning and domestic duties in all parts of the laundry and surrounding areas as may be required.

Undertake the maintenance and general cleaning of the laundry shop floor and laundry equipment to the recognised standards and frequencies.

Observe specialist cleaning requirements and the colour coding system in the appropriate areas as instructed. To ensure a high degree of sterilisation to minimise the possibility of cross infection.

Ensure that safe and correct working practices are maintained at all times and that duties are performed in accordance with Health & Safety and COSHH procedures and all relevant statutory regulations.

Ensure that electrical appliances and all other items of domestic cleaning equipment use through their duties are thoroughly cleaned and maintained in the appropriate manner and that all faults are reported to the Linen Service Floor Manager.

Replenish disposable/consumer items as required and report high usage and losses to Supervisor.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
