**Vehicle Fitters mate - West Bromwich**

Due to expansion, our client is seeking to hire a Van fitters mate to join this family owned business that has been established since 1984. The role is very much 'learning on the job' to support the current van engineering team.

Ideally someone who can drive however this is not essential for the role.

Full training is given however any previous knowledge of auto electrics and storage / racking installation is desirable (though not essential).

The role will ideally suit a person who has used tools before and understands precision with there work as they will be required to initially do the following tasks:

- Build up racking (metal flat pack)
- Assist the van fitters with all aspects of the van build
- Use power hand tools
- Cut correx for van lining kits (using a stencil)
- Build up our saws from components and following a how to guide along with training
- Learn how to take apart and service hydraulic machinery (training provided)
- Assist the fitters with anything they need help with eg. holding floors, installing the racking.
- Cleaning the vans

The role will suit a person who is proficient using power tools, perhaps enjoys DIY and has an interest in handy work, basic joinery etc and overall likes a workshop environment and keen to learn new skills.

The role is working: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm

There is opportunity for overtime usually before work or on a Saturday depending on the work load.

The client provides everything needed to carry out the job including tools, PPE and uniform.

Overall, this is fantastic opportunity for a practical person with experience / interest using power tools, doing wood work, DIY etc to join a fantastic family firm where full training is provided. It suits anyone from a college leaver with practical skills through to a person who is looking to move into a new career who possesses previous practical experience.
