**Junior Fees Clerk (1703)**

**£25,000-30,000 dependent on experience**

Our client is recognised as one of the leading commercial chancery and business law sets in the UK, based in Lincoln’s Inn. They currently have 82 members - 37 KCs and 45 junior barristers - practising across the full range of commercial chancery and business law disciplines.

Chambers is looking to recruit an additional Fees Clerkto join their Fees Collection Team.

The role involves working with the Fees and Administration Manager and the Senior Fees Clerk, in ensuring the efficient collection of fees on behalf of all members of Chambers. Applications are encouraged from graduates/school leavers looking for their first role, or those with some experience of working in chambers to offer.

**Overview of role**

To provide, at all times, an effective fee collection service to all members of Chambers as part of the fee collection team.

Reporting to the Fees & Administration Manager and ultimately the Executive Director.

**Main areas of responsibility**:

- Regular/timely billing of fee notes
- Issuing reminder fee notes
- Issuing fee chasing letters
- Noting the system with responses and ensuring timely follow-up, and dealing with any related administrative issues that may arise
- Ensuring that non-responses, fee disputes and any other anticipated delays in fee payments are referred to the Fees & Admin. Manager or Senior Fees Clerk
- Ensuring requests for monthly billing/invoicing arrangements are adhered to
- Processing fee payments on the LEX system
- Ensuring case types are updated onto the LEX system
- Issuing VAT receipts/copy VAT receipts
- Issuing credit notes/refunds to clients as and when necessary
- Producing unassessed fee reports and unknown BMIF codes for all Practice Management Teams
- Ensuring the agreed fee collection protocols are adhered to, at all times
- Assisting with any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Fees & Administration Manager and/or Executive Director.

**Person specification**:
This role would suit those with either some experience of working in chambers, in a similar position, or recent graduates/school leavers with A levels (or equivalent), looking for their first role in a legal environment. All applicants must be confident, team players.

**Core hours per week**: 40 hours per week: 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
