**SALISBURY CATHEDRAL SCHOOL JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Hours of Work**:40 hours a week with some flexibility in working hours. This role is term time although occasional overtime may be available during the evening, at weekends. and during the holidays. Applications will be considered for full or part time hours.

**Line Manager **Catering Manager

To prepare and cook food for the children and staff. To ensure that excellent standards of food hygiene are always maintained, and that food is presented to a high standard.

**AIM**
To clear up and ensure a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Supporting the Catering Manager by carrying out ordering and similar tasks.
- To always maintain a clean working environment, following Food Hygiene Regulations, in the Under

Croft (Dining Hall), Servery, Kitchen and Washing Up Area.
- To prepare and cook food for the children and staff.
- To assist with the serving of food.
- To wash up utensils used in the preparation of food and crockery and cutlery used in the Under

Croft (Dining hall)
- To unpack and safely store food and kitchen deliveries.
- To be aware and always adhere to food hygiene regulations.
- To assist with the safe and clean storage of all kitchen/dining equipment.
- To maintain high standards of personal presentation which in turn reflect in the presentation of food.
- To always maintain a professional code of conduct in relation to pupils, staff, parents, and visitors to the school.
- To assist with the smooth running of the Dining Hall, while maintaining high standards of manners and courtesy amongst pupils at all times.
- To be proactive in the management of Health and Safety in the kitchen and associated areas
