Senior Clinical Fellow Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia

The Anaesthesia Clinical Fellow posts provide excellent training and experience in all aspects of adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia, including cardiopulmonary transplantation and pulmonary endarterectomy, as well as perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography. The anaesthesia posts include some training in critical care, mainly on the perioperative care of the adult cardiothoracic patient. Intensive Care posts offer training in Adult Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, including many varieties of mechanical support for heart and lung conditions. The Intensive Care unit admits a large variety of patients, including advanced respiratory failure patients requiring ECMO. Focused Intensive Care Echocardiography is used routinely and training is available.

The post is suitable for senior UK trainees (preferably in the final 1-2 years of their training) or international trainees with appropriate qualifications.
