Do you have creative flair? Enjoy photography and would like to make a difference in your local community?

Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice charity are looking for some talented volunteer photographers to help capture images of our events, retail shops and volunteers in action across the Dorset and Wiltshire. The images will be used online, social media and in internal and external publications and literature.

Based across Dorset and Wiltshire, this role will be very flexible. Julia’s House Communication Team will be in regular contact with you to let you know what opportunities we have coming up. All that you’ll need is access to a digital SLR camera that can produce high resolution images, a friendly and approachable nature, an interest in photography and a good eye for detail.

Volunteers will receive a full induction to Julia’s House and the work it does and role specific training. Volunteers will be well supported and will have a clearly identified staff member to whom they report. You will also be provided with a clear creative brief before undertaking each task.

Volunteering has lots of benefits from building confidence to reducing stress and is a great way to make friends and have fun, and add to your portfolio. It’s a great feeling to be supporting your local community and will make all the difference to the children and families we care for locally. We would love to hear from anyone who has a few hours to spare.

Person specification:

- Access to a digital SLR camera which can produce high resolution images.
- Access to own equipment and photo editing software
- Ability to use a camera competently
- Experience of following a photographic brief
- Ability to work independently
- A good eye for detail
- Feel comfortable and confident interacting with others, be able to work with a variety of audiences including children and have good interpersonal skills.
