The Construction Site Supervisor will act as the Project Managers representative and SSE Solar and Battery' point of contact at site, enacting the role of the Supervisor under NEC 3/4 and FIDIC Contracts.

The CSS role is responsible for ensuring that the site-based construction activities across SSE DE are safely and efficiently managed in accordance with both legislation (HASAW, CDM, etc.) and SSE DE policies, procedures, and standards.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- The CSS will lead by example on all Site matters SHEW related. Create, drive and maintain a positive engagement of SSE’s SHEW culture throughout the team and into the portfolio of projects that are in the construction element of the asset lifecycle. Instil the values of the “Safety Family” within the team.
- Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies
- Responsible for ensuring that a system is in place for ensuring all Contractors are set to work and managed in line with SSE’s Safety Management System.
- Ensure that the Principal Contractor is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, not least in managing all safety aspects of the construction-based activities
- Undertake the role of Engineers representative for sensible monitoring of site construction activities and be familiar with all aspects of the contract documentation.
- Issue written site instructions following agreement from the Project Manager and authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.
- Maintain and develop technical expertise and knowledge in the areas of Distributed Generation and Storage technologies, particularly Battery and Solar

**To be considered for this role, we would love you to have**:

- Basic Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply
- Awareness of Contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts
- Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment
- A strong understanding of SHEW construction requirements/legislation such as CDM, LOLER, PUWER, HSG45
- Demonstrable experience of working under commercial contract frameworks such as NEC3/4 DOM2 etc.
- Health and safety - SSSTS / SMSTS / NEBOSH / IOSH accreditation plus relevant experience in a construction-based field
- Working knowledge of DNO connections. - desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of EHV and HV grid connections - desirable
