**Trainee Estimator - Estimating Department**

Salary - £25,000 to £30,000 salary plus performance-based bonus - Regular company incentives

Altus Safety is a leading, national, working-at-height subcontractor specialising in permanent roof access & fall protection equipment.  Working within a team of estimators and CAD technicians, the trainee estimator will collaborate with BDM’s, projects managers, customers, and suppliers to provide safe, competitive roof access and fall protection
solutions.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Create and maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Provide support during the negotiation process

**Qualifications/Knowledge Requirements**:

- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents however full training will be given
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

**Hours of work**: Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 17:00, Friday (work from home), 08.00 - 16.00
