Chancellor’s Fellowships are 5-year tenure track fellowships that are supported by mentoring and will join and be supported by an interactive Early Career Researcher (ECR) cohort community. These provide talented ECRs with the networking and career development training opportunities to enable them to thrive as an academic at the University of Edinburgh.

In total, the College of Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint up to 18 Chancellor’s Fellows. Up to 6 of these will be in this priority theme of **Health and Life **who have a demonstrable track record, in research (which may include knowledge exchange, innovation and/or impact, and the potential to make a key contribution to the University through furthering the goals of the host School and University.

Given the multidisciplinary nature of the theme, we welcome applicants with experience of, or potential to conduct interdisciplinary research and endeavours that span Schools and the University. We also welcome applicants with experience of community-facing activities relating to research culture, inclusion, mentoring, or outreach.

**When applying, it is essential that you attach the following four documents**:
2. A **short covering letter **, including a statement on cohort building aims that addresses the following:
Successful applicants will join a cohort of new and existing Chancellor’s Fellows both within their host Schools/College and the wider University. What would be the advantages to you in joining such a cohort? What strengths and qualities could you bring to it?

The covering letter should also justify the choice of host School/EPCC.

3. A **two-page outline of your research programme **, including: a research plan which particularly concentrates on for the first three years and highlights novelty and uniqueness; details of any planned activities to maximise collaboration, partnership and knowledge exchange; and identification of alignment to the thematic opportunities in the School and University in [AI and Datascience/ Health and Life/ Climate and Environmental Sustainability]; fit to applicant track record (skills, experience and outputs). Key references can be included on an additional page.
