Laboratory Assistant

The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Performing a variety of physical tests on soil and aggregate samples to the highest level of safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures and results.
- Develop an understanding of the test methods and why samples are tested.
- Assisting in the calibration and maintenance of all technical equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
- Ensuring the quality of work produced is to high standards and tested in a timely manner.

**Requirements**:

- 5+ GCSEs including English, Maths and Science.
- Good numeracy and literacy: able to write clearly and accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording data
- Good IT skills, especially the use of MS Excel.

There will be lots of manual handling involved in the role and will require moving heavy items on a frequent basis.

Note: Prior experience in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus, but not required.

Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £18,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
