**About the Stone Centre**

The Stone Centre is based in the Department of Economics and aims to become a global hub for research and learning that will make wealth concentration and its impacts on innovation and sustainability central to economics education. Education and research are equal partners in the venture. The Stone Centre is pairing up CORE Econ (Curriculum Open-access Resources in Economics) with the research strengths of the UCL Economics Department. The aim is to help shape the next generation of economists, bringing more attention and increasing capacity in both teaching - at all levels - and research to the causes and consequences of wealth concentration and inequality.

**About the role**:
We are recruiting two one-year (12 month) postdoctoral research fellows. The research fellows will work within a team of researchers at the Stone Centre and the Department of Economics at UCL. Their research expertise and interests will relate to the broad aims of the Stone Centre. We seek to understand the drivers of wealth concentration, various dimensions of inequality and the interactions of these processes on political outcomes, representation and voice. Research areas in applied microecomics, macroeconomics and empirical methods will all be considered. We will work with successful applicants to secure the best fit for their research interests and strengths and to encourage them to develop these to mutual advantage, with a particular focus on academic publication in top international journals. Research fellows are also expected to engage with the teaching innovations of the Stone Centre through its close collaboration with CORE Econ.
- The postholder will benefit from interactions with colleagues in the Department of Economics, at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and in UCL more broadly.
- The Research Fellow will be responsible for executing a research agenda related to wealth concentration and inequality.
- The post holder will be expected to:

- develop academic articles related to the research agenda (these can be single or co-authored).
- contribute to the overall activities of the Stone Centre as required, including the organisation of workshops, supporting other research events, developing teaching materials, engaging with PhD Stone Scholars.
- The postholder will have the opportunity of contributing to teaching in the Department in modules related to the mission of the Stone Centre.
- The postholder will carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Directors of the Stone Centre.
