Who will you be working with? Reporting to the Vice President, Global Aftermarket and Reman Services

Where is the position located? This is full time position at our office in Whelshpool WA

What will your typical day look like?- Abide by all Wabtec Company Values.-
- Establishes and maintains local Wabtec EHS Procedures, Policies, Registers and Regulatory and Auditing Programs in line with an IMS approach.-
- Promotes a continuous improvement culture and implements best practice management systems in the workplace.-
- Interfaces regularly with production personnel, support staff, and leadership team members during the resolution of EHS issues and the implementation of corrective actions.-
- Performs duties required by the Safety Management System and Regional and Global strategies.-
- Participates in developing new initiatives and solutions for continuous improvement based on the business's risks.-
- Interpret, implement, and evaluate the ongoing adequacy of EHS standards.-
- Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.-
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of EHS activities or incidents.-
- Participates in cross-functional efforts to ensure proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.-
- Collaborates with production personnel to identify systemic root causes for non-conformances.-
- Investigate Incidents and non-conformance issues.-
- Must comply with mandatory random drug & alcohol testing.-
- Attend and deliver toolbox talks and workplace safety meetings, including establishing an EHS Committee (if required).-
- Undertake and conduct training required for the position.- Management System and Reporting- Maintains EHS records, compiles information, and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.-
- Performs preliminary review and analysis, including liaising with Wabtec teams for Incident near misses and first aid reporting.-
- Provides support to manufacturing operations in the review of products and engineering and manufacturing processes, including risk assessments, lift plans, and chemical management plans.-
- Performs audits in accordance with Wabtec/customer/industry standards; reports on results, assigns tasks, and monitors follow-up actions.-
- Maintains chemical, hazardous, lift plan, risk assessment, document revision, change management, and auditing tracking systems.-
- Review the implementation and efficiency of EHS systems and how they are applied onsite.-
- Document internal audits and other EHS activities; evaluate findings and implement appropriate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.-
- Oversee, maintain and review of document management systems.-
- Participate in workplace inspections and safe work observations-
- Ensure mandatory PPE is applied.- Expectations- Strong oral and written communication skills-

- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to compile and present reports.-
- Must be able to work as part of a team, with or without supervision.-
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills-
- Flexibility with work hours and willingness to travel if required.- What do we want to know about you?- Cert IV or above from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environment, Science.-
- Minimum of 5 years EHS experience-
- ISO45001 Experience/Certification/Lead Auditor Accreditation-
- Workpla
