Who you will be working for
A large NHS Trust in the East Midlands, with two Hospital campuses
What you will be doing
To support, manage, and maintain, the Trust's networking infrastructure. This is both physical networking equipment and virtual networking platforms that includes hardware, operating systems, and other networking components.
Working with users, colleagues and 3rd parties to efficiently resolve incidents, faults, or calls generated via the Service Desk.
To ensure all network systems and information are backed up utilising appropriate infrastructure, software, and techniques.
Managing cyber risks and weaknesses by deploying of available security patches and system hardening within the network infrastructure.
To deploying necessary system upgrades, software patches, and other changes to the network estate.
To provide expert technical knowledge and advice that meet expectations of service users and suppliers. This will involve liaising with stakeholders both within the Trust and external system users and suppliers.
To assist and mentor junior members of the team and other staff with their professional development as required.
Provide detailed reports on the performance of systems and infrastructure.
Essential skills
Extensive senior IT technical experience in an expert capacity managing and supporting a large Enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security is achieved.
Extensive knowledge and experience of network design and data cabling standards.
A strong understanding of TCP/IP
Extensive experience of network security products, including IPS/IDS and firewalls.
Extensive experience in managing network switches in a large campus environment.
Extensive experience in managing wireless network technologies
Has an understanding or experience in delivering telephony or video conferencing products.
Has knowledge and experience in systems and services based on Microsoft Windows Server, VMware vSphere, or Linux.
Experience and understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery techniques and proven experience of backup and restore operations.
Has been involved in upgrading or deploying a large cooperate network.
Has experiences with Cisco wireless, switching and security products.
Has experiences of managing Cisco products using Cisco Prime.
