RMS are recruiting for **Riggers** for short term, on shore projects throughout the UK.

The first project is due to start in September. Y**ou must hold a valid site safety passport (CCNSG or VCA).**

**The role**:

- Carry out a range of rigging works on static equipment incl. slinging, internal and external lifting work to meet customer project requirements in full compliance with applicable HSE standards, within schedule and quality. Nature of the work entails working at heights and in confined spaces in vessels, columns, reactors etc. in Refineries and Chemical Plants.
- Participate in HSE trainings such as Induction & Refresher, confined space, working at height and any other training required for particular projects.
- Participate in Client site safety induction and satisfy site access requirements.
- Familiarise with RAMS and permit to work system, following all applicable HSE rules including use of PPE as per Site and specific requirements.
- Undertake mechanical works in accordance with Method Statements, Industry practice and instructions from Foreman/Supervisor
- Rigging duties for installation of vessel internals including but not limited to trays, beams, supports, packing, pipework, accessories etc.
- Assemble & Install Rigging Equipment, such as Cables, Ropes, Pulleys, Winches & Chain Blocks to lift, lower, move or position items, machinery, Structural Steels and other heavy objects within the scope
- Preparations and safe lifting of all vessel internals equipment into the column from the exterior at ground level
- Attach slinging gear to hoisting equipment and objects to be moved, using clamps, hooks, bolts and appropriate knots
- Instruction and 'banking' of cranes and lift equipment
- Safe lifting and removal of all vessel internal equipment
- Other duties may include trade assistance and 'standby-man' duties i.e. man-way entry watching, and preparation of materials on ground ready for installation
- Use of standard site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and from time to time specialist equipment including Breathing Apparatus equipment.
- Ensure the care and protection of company tools and equipment and facilities
- Demonstrate professional behaviours whilst on assignment
- Follow applicable Processes and act as a role model for Compliance
- Any other duties as directed by Foreman/Supervisor and within expected Industry skills.

**Requirements**:

- NVQ L3 - OPITO L3 - VVL IS-006 qualification with certification or minimum of 3 year’s relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 year’s experience in rigging works in vessels, columns and reactors
- Certified for Working at height and Confined Space Entry including relevant Medical Certification
- Original Trade Indemnities an advantage
- Knowledge of Refinery and Chemical
- Plants practices & standards
- Familiar with ISO45001
- Certified to VCA/SCC Basic Level
