An exciting part time vacancy has arisen within the Newborn Hearing Screening Service, we are looking for a hearing screener to work in postnatal maternity wards and outpatient clinics carrying out the hearing screen for all eligible newborn babies in South West London and The Portland Hospital.

The SWL Newborn Hearing Screening service is carried out across 6 hospitals in the South West London and Surrey areas. These include Croydon, Kingston, St George’s, Epsom and St Helier hospitals and The Portland. Travel will be required for this post for screening and training requirements.

We are looking for caring, motivated, conscientious individuals with a flexible, adaptable approach. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential preferably with experience of working with young babies and children and their families.

The post requires being able to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative. You must be methodical and well organised and it is essential for you to be able to prioritise your own workload to ensure that all babies are screened.

You will be working with dedicated supportive and caring teams who have a strong commitment to a flexible and co-operative working environment. Working as part of a team altering working patterns to accommodate the changing needs of the service, across 7 days a week, with regular working during weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), bank and public holidays.

Our team comprise of Local Managers, Senior Screeners, Screeners, and an admin team

Applicants must be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) as a mínimal requirement, good computer skills and IT awareness are essential and deaf awareness would also be an advantage.
