The Speech and Language Therapy Department based in Conwy and Denbighshire (Central Area BCUHB) are looking for experienced Speech and Language Technical Instructors and/or Speech and Language Therapy Students to join our bank team.

The therapy intervention plan will be written and overseen by a Speech and Language Therapist. Robust support and supervision will be provided by members of our friendly team.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Technical Instructors and/or Speech and Language Therapy students (at any stage in their studies) to work flexibly whilst gaining experience of delivering therapy.

Shifts will be in pre-agreed blocks of time to support the provision of a block of intervention (according to the needs of the children). Shifts in holiday time (out of term time) will be available.

This post is fixed term for 12 months due to meet the needs of the service.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to deliver intervention packages for school aged children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties. These intervention packages are delivered within schools and may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in a small group.

There will also be a requirement to create and prepare therapy resources and to support with other administrative tasks e.g. photocopying, filing, completion of audits/checklists, ordering equipment.

Excellent communication skills.

The ability to work as part of a team, to build a strong rapport and work effectively with colleagues.

Experience of working with school aged children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.

Excellent time management and organisation skills

The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post
