We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Healthcare Science Practitioner in Respiratory and Sleep Science wishing to further develop their skills within our rapidly developing Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units. The Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Services currently supports 9 Respiratory consultants across Prince Charles and Royal Glamorgan hospital sites and provides diagnostic support services to some of the smaller Health board sites. Therefore applicants must have the ability to travel to alternate sites to meet service demand.

We provide a full range of Respiratory and sleep testing including : Spirometry, Flow Volume loop, lung volumes and transfer factor, reversibility testing, overnight oximetry, multi channel sleep, flight assessment, 6 minute walks, Ambulatory oxygen assessment, capillary blood gas analysis, LTOT, Skin prick allergy tests, Manotol, Feno and Pico. As well as CPAP therapy services.

The post holder must have the relevant professional qualification BSc in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science Practitioner or equivalent

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The post holder will be a Respiratory Physiologist working within the Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units, contributing to the delivery of the respiratory service provided to patients within Cwm Taf Morgannwg, ensuring that the professional and quality standards of the service are maintained at all times.

They will work as an independent practitioner providing a broad range of routine respiratory diagnostic tests on both inpatients and out patients. They will form part of the wider multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of a full range of diagnostic assessments and therapies for patients with respiratory and sleep related disorders.

Ensuring that all respiratory clinical practices conform to agreed National guidelines which reflect current scientific and technical knowledge and principles of practice.

The post holder will have the opportunity to develop through your conversation PDR.

The post holder will be a professional practitioner working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for organizing their own workload and ensure that their Respiratory Physiology diagnostic clinical practices conform to agreed national guidelines.
