Carpenter/joiner - Wigan

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking to recruit a Carpenter/Joiner in Wigan.

Successful applicants may be required to carry out a disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau. You must also be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the duties it places on an employee, emergence first aid at work (HSE), Environmental awarenessTool Box talk, IOSH working safely, manual tool handling, and ladder use.

Duties of the role include:

- Carrying out joinery work, examples of work including making stairs, doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and other bespoke timber items
- Measuring/quoting for works
- Ordering materials
- Maintaining stock of building maintenance material
- Fitting out company vehicles for other departments
- Organising/planning daily work with the supervisor, recording/submitting all details of work carried out on relevant work orders
- Driving a vehicle, if necessary, in connection with work, carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing associated paperwork
- Being responsible for joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness
- Participating in the services’ out of hours emergency standby rota when the need arises
- Completing statutory records as required
- Providing technical advice as required
- Any other duties as required

This position is a temporary role for 3 months, working full time Monday-Friday 7.5hrs a day, paying £15.00ph.
