Overview of a Legal Assistant: Contract and Procurements
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Legal Assistant: Contract and Procurements to join an expanding team.
The role of Legal Assistant: Contract and Procurements has a competitive pay rate of £13.02 to £15.84 per hour. Other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
The Main Purpose of a Legal Assistant: Contract and Procurements:
" To comply with agreed office procedures, relevant sections of the Inter-Authority Agreements, and Lexcel & IIP standards.
" To support a team of lawyers covering some of the following commercial work such as contracts and procurement.
" To build good and effective working relationships with colleagues within the Department, clients, elected members and their stakeholders.
" To contribute to the management and strategy of the department so that it operates and develops in line with Harrow Council's priorities and customer requirements.
" To undertake election duties.
" To have conducted routine cases including contracts and procurement matters, with appropriate mínimal supervision.
" To ensure that the service provided is (a) responsive to corporate and customer requirements, (b) provides value for money to the highest professional standard and (c) complies with Lexcel requirements.
About you, the successful will have:
" To undertake more complex work with mínimal supervision in the areas of contracts and procurement matters.
" To lead and deliver training to non-lawyers in areas of specialism.
" To advise member or lay panel members at decision making panels.
" To present a confident and professional demeanour to gain the trust of clients.
" To identify and lead on areas of practice improvement.
" To undertake advocacy if applicable in contested hearings.
