**How does an Apprenticeship work?**

As an Apprentice, you will be employed, just like anyone else in the organisation, the difference is that you will be studying towards a qualification, whilst you work.

Any work that you are set within this session is then expected to be complete for the next month’s session. You will be given time each week to do this within your working day - so NO homework This will all prepare you for your End Point Assessment (EPA) once you have completed all the learning required. Arnold Hill Academy is a large academy in Arnold, just outside the City of Nottingham. With almost 1,600 students on roll we are one of the largest secondary academies in the county. Our academic standards are high and students are challenged to stretch themselves and achieve the very best they can.

Our school buildings, extensive grounds and facilities are of a very high standard. **About the Role**:
Working as part of this important team you will be required to carry out a number of duties. The nature of the Academy Year requires some of these tasks to be done regularly whilst others will be on an annual cycle. The post holder will be expected to use all Trust standard computer hardware and software packages where appropriate.

**And Day to Day?. You will be Responsible for**:
It is essential that Arnold Hill is at the forefront of efficient and effective systems which contribute to the academy’s visions of raising achievement. As often the first point of contact, you have a central role in an effective and efficient organisation which values the customer. You will provide a professional administration and reprographics service for the school. Reporting to the HR Administrator, you will be an essential member of the Administrative Team and contribute towards the smooth running of the Academy. You will have a high level of contact with both senior management and teaching staff.

**Admin**:

- Provide clerical support to staff, including typing of letters and other documents, photocopying and filing, etc.
- Carry out general telephone duties, i.e., answering and transferring telephone calls
- Maintain stationery stocks for the administrative department
- Attend staff meetings, evening events (such as Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings) and INSET activities
- Work to deadlines in a calm and confident manner when under pressure
- Be organised, able to multitask, work flexibly and have a “can do” approach
- Be confident dealing with public situations, including administering first aid as required, liaising with internal staff and/or contractors as necessary and completing all associated paperwork in line with school procedures
- Communicate with the site team and teaching staff using the two-way radio system
- Understand Data Protection and Confidentiality
- Carry out any such task as shall be deemed necessary to the smooth running of the Academy
- Managing the Facilities Manager’s diary as well as booking scheduled services for the Site Manager.

**Lettings**:

- Ensuring admin for the letting is in place, creating specific policies using the Trust template, ensuring the third party completes the correct sections and have sent over the relevant documents for the Facilities Manager to inspect.
- Working alongside the Facilities Manager to source new lettings when space opens in the schedule.
- Update the academy’s booking system to show room and pitch usage (information used to generate invoices)
- Provide the link between lettings and site team to ensure set up is arranged
- Attend meetings with the Facilities Manager where needed
- Work alongside Website administrator to update lettings page on the academy website to promote positive actions and share messages about the academic year, such as exam dates
