We are recruiting for a Front of House to join the Theatr Mwldan team

**Box Office - Job Role**:
Mwldan’s Box Office and Marketing and Communications teams work together to build brand awareness, drive attendance and sales, and develop audiences across the entire organisation, including live events, cinema, private hires, touring and production work and our festivals and externally promoted events.
The purpose of this role is to help deliver the sales, ticketing and reception operations at Mwldan, delivering the highest level of customer service possible to all those that interact with or visit us.
The Box Office Assistant will provide a warm and friendly service to all our visitors, selling tickets, fielding enquiries and acting as a first point of contact at Mwldan.
The Box Office Assistant is line managed by, and is directly responsible to, the Operations Manager (responsibility for the FoH team overall lies with the Head of Marketing and Communications).
**Box Office - Key Responsibilities**:
- To act as the main information and reception point for the venue, ensuring the Box Office provides a professional, customer-focused, and welcoming service for all visitors including professional companies, hirers and public.
- To maintain good communication with both internal and external customers.
- To process sales of tickets, handling cash and card transactions
- To provide assistance with other routine box office and marketing functions as required.
- To understand the emergency evacuation procedure of the auditoria, and their role within that procedure.
- To open the auditoria, tearing tickets, ensuring people sit in their allocated seats, aiding customers.
- To monitoring the performance and its audience.
- To undertake bar work as required, and any cleaning that may be required during the building’s opening hours.
- Maintain and poster/ publicity display sand programme supplies around the building to ensure a professional look, ensuring all events receive fair coverage, plus setting up of FOH displays for visiting companies
- Assisting the Sales and Marketing Team with uploading and proofing event information and updating the website, particularly at the start of each main season
- Undertake ‘exit flyering’ where appropriate
- To provide visiting companies with weekly sales updates
- To welcome positive and negative feedback about the venue and pass this on via the Duty Manager and Operations Manager, to help Mwldan improve the service it offers.
- In partnership with the Operations Manager and other departments, to ensure the customer service standards instituted throughout Mwldan are applied at the Box Office.
- To ensure that Mwldan's policies regarding ticketing and building use are upheld.
- To strive for continuous improvements in customer care by making positive suggestions for change.
- To work as a team in a positive manner whilst also using initiative.
- To ensure GDPR and data protection policies are upheld.
- To ensure Mwldan’s policies as outlined in the Staff Handbook, including Equal Opportunities and Diversity and Environmental Policies, are implemented and reflected in all aspects of your work.
- To attend team meetings and training relevant to your role as required.
- To reconcile daily takings at the end of each shift in accordance with the closing down instructions and to report any discrepancies to the Duty Manager.

Essential Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with good face-to-face communication, positive attitude and obvious enthusiasm
- Ability to problem solve and use initiative
- Proactive and positive approach to getting things done
- Basic cash-handling skills and experience
- Good computer literacy
- Excellent organisational skills
- The ability to stay calm and work well under pressure
- A genuine passion for the arts, live events and cinema and a keen interest in the work, vision and values of Mwldan
- Understanding of the importance of inclusion and diversity in the workplace
- Understanding of the importance of working in an environmentally sustainable manner.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Welsh speaker
- Experience of using ticketing systems
