Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in Neonatology (equivalent to Core/Higher ST3-5/ST6+) with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 02 September 2024 for a period of 12-24 months.

This Neonatal Clinical Fellow post will be based in the Academic Department of Paediatrics, which is part of the University of Cambridge.

The primary purpose of the post is to support delivery and development of the portfolio of research being undertaken within the Cambridge Newborn Research Group in Cambridge. Research currently includes a range of studies from single centre physiological studies, and device trials to a large international CTIMP study.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to support the multidisciplinary research team to deliver the groups Portfolio of studies in accordance with GCP. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively alongside others in the research team including Phd and post-doctoral research associates to enhance research activity within the unit.

The timetable will be dependent on the evolving Trial and education demands of the individual, and the department. An essential part of the role is flexibility to be available to support the recruitment and delivery of clinical studies. There is no clinical commitment to the post, however there are often opportunities to undertake locum clinical shifts within NICU for those wishing to maintain their clinical skills.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria, MBBS or equivalent, minimum 6 months tertiary level NICU experience within the NHS, ability to work as part of a team, basic computer skills.
