Community Phlebotomist

An exciting opportunity for a Community Phlebotomist has arisen in the Sudbury Community Health Team. The team are based in the new, state of the art Health Centre in Sudbury which is a historic market town surrounded by picturesque villages. The Sudbury Health Centre is the base for a wide range of other health professionals and agencies including Adult Social Care and a GP practice, so we can work together in a fully integrated way. The successful applicant will join a dynamic, friendly team of community nurses, therapists, social care colleagues.

As a community phlebotomist you will visit patients in their own homes, carry out phlebotomy tasks considering good practice for infection control, manual handling and positioning, return bloods to the health centre for transportation to the pathology lab. Maintain accurate records of interventions and feedback to the nursing team any observations made during visits **.**

You will be required to utilise IT systems to maintain accurate records, providing timely information to members of the multi-disciplinary team in order that communication is maintained in agreement with data protection protocol.

Experience of working in the healthcare role would be an advantage. However, local induction would be provided, identifying any training needs you may have.
