Southern Engineering & Marine Co is a the forefront of the Marine infrastructure and steelwork industries selling our product UK wide. We have a small team of around 20 fully trained welders, steel erectors and pipefitters.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates. Your attention to detail and strong analytical skills will be crucial in ensuring the profitability and success of our projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to generate accurate estimates
- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys
- Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs
- Collaborate with procurement team to obtain accurate pricing for materials and equipment
- Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and proposals for clients
- Monitor project costs throughout the duration of the project and provide regular updates to director
- Site surveys and meeting with Clients to discuss works

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Knowledge of Marine infrastructure works
- Knowledge of site works
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes
- Proficient in using cost estimation software and tools
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

**Skills**:

- Cost control: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Pay: £35,000.00-£41,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- estimating: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
