**Your new company**Our client is an established surveying and engineering company based in Derby in the East Midlands, centrally located to offer services UK wide. They are looking for a CAD Technician to join their team.
**Your new role**
- Topographical Surveys
- As built Surveys
- Drainage Surveys
- Dealing with house builder's drawings and preparing CSV and CAD Files

**What you'll need to succeed**
- The ability to create and process high-quality accurate detailed technical drawings for site setting out and make modifications to existing drawings
- The ability to interpret drawings and liaise with architects, engineers and colleagues to understand design requirements and provide technical advice
- Experience of working with a variety of CAD software programmes
- The ability to transfer, display and manipulate your work using Microsoft Office and other programmes
- Planning and managing your own time and the team diary to ensure all sites needs can be met efficiently
- Work without direct day to day supervision and make technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority
- Liaise with all outside parties in advance of the works to ensure no delays once on site
- Problem solving, creativity and innovation skills in order to come up with solutions to design problems where required
- Proficient IT skills working within both Microsoft, CAD and surveying software platforms
- Excellent numeracy with the ability to make mathematical calculations and to understand and interpret data
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate at all levels and relationship building to work with clients and other engineers
- Excellent organisation, administrative and time management skills to complete work to project deadlines
- The ability to work as part of a team as you'll be liaising with colleagues
- You must live within 15 miles of Derby and currently reside in the UK
- You must hold a full clean valid UK driving licence

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of managing a team diary and scheduling jobs
- Knowledge of topographical surveying and site engineering in various sectors of the construction industry to enable you to conduct site visits and surveys when required
- Experience with Leica total Station and GPS smart rovers
- The ability to provide training and support to less senior team members
- Professional Construction, Engineering or Survey qualification
- N4ce surveying package software knowledge
