Volunteer Tour Guide

As a volunteer you will join a friendly front-of house-team at the Museum. You will be given full training and support with lots of opportunities to experience other roles, including stewarding events, working on reception and administrative tasks.
- **Conduct Guided Tours**: Lead informative and engaging tours for museum visitors, providing context, historical significance, and captivating anecdotes related to the exhibits.
- **Interact with Visitors**: Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by interacting with visitors, answering questions, and offering assistance to enhance their overall museum experience.
- **Stay Informed**: Stay abreast of museum collections, exhibitions, and historical information to ensure accurate and up-to-date knowledge for effective storytelling during tours.
- **Adaptability**: Be flexible and adaptable to accommodate diverse groups, including school children, tourists, and special interest groups, tailoring the tour content to suit the audience.
- **Collaborate with Museum Staff**: Work closely with museum staff and fellow volunteers to coordinate tour schedules, share insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the visitor experience.
- **Promote Education**: Encourage a love for learning by actively promoting the educational aspects of the museum, inspiring curiosity and a deeper understanding of history and culture.
- **Uphold Museum Policies**: Ensure adherence to museum policies and guidelines, including visitor safety and security measures.
