As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.

This role is fixed term until 31st March 2025. Access to a vechicle is required for this role, mileage will be paid.
- To safeguard and protect the children, young people and adults that we work with by adhering closely to We Are With You’s policies and procedures at all times and sharing any concerns immediately.
- To provide information and advice to parents in relation to substance misuse and its impact on the wider family unit.
- To provide a clear pathway into structured treatment with We Are With You.
- To offer family focussed interventions which reduce the impact of substance misuse and relapse after birth.
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who are open to the ADDER Project. To raise awareness the project.
- To work as part of an integrated network of professionals supporting families affected by parent/carer substance misuse.
- To communicate We Are With You’s vision.

Main responsibilities
- Manage an active caseload of Family clients, providing family interventions and/or other psychosocial and pharmacotherapy interventions.
- Be accountable for delivering continuity of care through effective health partnership working, care coordination and key work responsibilities for a complex family cohort.
- To establish supportive and respectful relationships with people using perinatal services.
- Be accountable for managing chronic and acute safeguarding issues.
- Assess parents, carrying out a full family assessment and devise, monitor and review recovery/care plans within and between services using SMART goals.
- Make appropriate onward referrals to specialist agencies. Assess risk to ensure a safe, appropriate environment for all through the prevention and management of abusive and aggressive behaviours.
- Make autonomous decisions as appropriate, to plan and arrange own work to ensure family focussed interventions and support is provided.
- Disseminate substance misuse and parenting information whilst offering interventions relating to health, social wellbeing, in both group and one to one/family settings.
- Lone working will be required, as appropriate. Support colleagues, volunteers and sessional workers by providing advice and guidance as appropriate, ensuring care standards are maintained so that service users receive the most appropriate support.
- Use influencing skills to ensure the Family offer is appropriately publicised, both internally and externally.
- Collate and gather evidence in order for reports to be compiled as required. Attend national planning, team meetings, partnership agency meetings and steering group meetings.
- Ensure personal safety is considered and that We Are With You’s lone working procedures are adhered to at all times.

**Essential Skills**:
To be successful in this role, you will:

- have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
- have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
- have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
- be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
- have good oral and written communication skills
- be comfortable using IT and digital media
- be organised and able to manage your time effectively
- able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
- be happy to support other With You locations when needed

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
