AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Lye, DY9.

They are looking to appoint two enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking manufacturing apprentices to develop their skills within a well-established and rapidly expanding business as it transitions to a world of e-commerce (selling online), supplying to customers all over the world.

They manufacture products such as door handles, doorknobs, cupboard handles and pulls, door pulls and window fittings. The products we make are some of the finest and most expensive available across the world. They typically furnish 5-star hotels, royal palaces, super yachts, castles, flagship retail stores and luxury private residences, as well as stately homes and period, heritage or listed buildings.

The factory environment is clean, tidy and spacious.

The position is for an **Apprenticeship,** the position is **initially 12-15 months **with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

- Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standards
- Level 2 Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
- English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2

**General Duties**

**You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

- Understanding the use of machinery such as manual lathes and milling machines, as well as use of everyday hand-tools.
- An introduction to loading, monitoring, and unloading CNC machinery.
- Surface preparation to include linishing, banding, burnishing, bronzing, pre-polishing, polishing and finishing prior to electro-plating.
- Spraying and lacquering to improve surface durability of products.
- Product assembly, inspection, testing and packing ready for shipping
- Warehouse management including stock ordering and putting away, notification of products ready to be shipped.
- Health and safety
- General housekeeping

**Skills and Requirements**
- GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)
- Demonstrate a good attention to detail
- Have a careful & meticulous way of working
- Able to visually inspect products for quality
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to commute to and from work reliably
- Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

**Working Hours**

**Monday - Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm (1 Hour Break: 30 mins + 15 Mins + 3 x 5 Mins)

Friday 8.00am to 2.00pm (30 Mins Break: 15 Mins + 3 x 5 Mins)

Total hours paid: 37

Hourly Rate: £5.70 ph
