Resident Care:
Provide high-quality care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, mobility, and feeding.
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
Monitor residents' physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting their dignity, independence, and overall well-being.

Care Plan Management:
Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans for residents.
Update care plans regularly based on residents' changing needs, input from healthcare professionals, and observations.
Ensure that care plans are followed accurately and that residents receive appropriate care and interventions.

Team Leadership and Support:
Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with established standards and policies.
Support and mentor junior care staff, providing training, guidance, and feedback as necessary.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among the care team.

Communication and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' care, including daily notes, incident reports, and medication administration records.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to exchange information, address concerns, and provide updates on residents' conditions.
Participate in care conferences and meetings to contribute to residents' care planning and review.

Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Assist in risk assessments and the implementation of appropriate measures to prevent accidents or incidents.
Promptly report any health and safety issues to the appropriate authorities or management.

Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on best practices and industry standards in elderly care.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the care home, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate changes.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Carer in a residential care setting.
- Working for agency in different care homes across Edinburgh.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care, such as NVQ/QCF levels 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Knowledge of person-centered care and the ability to develop and implement care plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Leadership abilities and the capability to guide and support a care team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
